Lyon midfielder Ederson has confirmed speculations linking him with a summer move to Lazio.
The Brazilian midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season and he was recently linked with a move to Olimpico.
The 26-year-old is currently pondering his options and he has now revealed that he has been in contact with the Biancocelesti and several Brazilian clubs.
“I have not yet signed with other clubs. I have contacts with Italian clubs including Lazio, but also with Brazilian clubs,” Ederson Honorato Campos told Radio Monte Carlo.
Nevertheless, the player explains that he is interested in signing a new deal at Gerland.
“My preference is to stay in Europe because I have worked hard to get here. My desire is to continue with Lyon but I am waiting.”
Ederson has failed to prove his worth at Gerland after arriving in a €15 million deal from Nice in January 2008 and it appears that he will not be offered a new contract at the club.
Despite the somewhat indifferent performances at Lyon, the Brazilian is still held in high regard by a number of European clubs and he should have no problems finding a new employer.
Ederson have featured in just 14 Ligue 1 games this season, but he managed to score two goals in the process.
