Bayern Munich have agreed a deal with Juventus to sign Chile international Arturo Vidal.
Vidal has consistently been linked with a move away from Turin in the last year, having impressed regularly in Serie A since signing from Bayer Leverkusen in 2011.
He is now set for a return to Germany, subject to a medical and the signing of a contract.
I can confirm in principle that we have achieved with both parties, Juventus and the player, explained Bayern s chief executive officer Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
All that is missing is the medical examination and the signing of the contract. Should everything run normally, he can start training next week.
The transfer has seen Bayern react swiftly to losing Bastian Schweinsteiger, who joined Manchester United on a three-year deal earlier this month, further strengthening Pep Guardiola s impressive midfield options.
Juve, meanwhile, have now lost two first-choice midfielders since the end of last season, with Vidal following Andrea Pirlo out of the exit door.
Paul Pogba has also been attracting major interest, though Juve have rejected the advances of Barcelona for the France midfielder already in the transfer window.
